The concept is simple: Each person possesses the qualities of a color in the visible spectrum. This decision is quite personal, and at this point in the development of the theory, no specific attributes have been assigned to certain colors.

Once a color is selected, the individual is then able to understand how to find their ideal match. At first, it is widely assumed that you are searching for your COMPLEMENTARY color (under the presumption that “opposites attract”). This relationship will be all about looks. Your qualities do fit into a proper color scheme, but in reality you are only working to enhance each others’ differences. This pairing does work well in more platonic relationships, but when it comes to romance, the purpose is quite different.

In a lasting romantic relationship, the object is to find an ANALOGOUS pairing; to find a match that shares many similar qualities, but has enough of their own differences to stand alone. Difficulty arises when the individual notices that the conventional “one perfect match” ideal does not actually exist. There are, in fact, two separate (yet congruous) color-persona that will complete the romantic scheme equally as well. A “blue” individual may find themselves spending their life happily with either “green” OR “purple” partners.
